Celebrities that have helped the Haiti victims

The earthquake that had hit Haiti was such a tragedy that affected everyone. It even affected many celebrities who are now helping the Haiti victims as much as they can. The entertainment world had put together an organization called , “ Hope for Haiti Now” telethon which featured two hours of celebrities on the phone taking donations while artists performed and which was also hosted by George Clooney. Some of these performers were; Alicia Keys, Rhianna, Beyonce, Shakira, Wyclef, Madonna etc. Some of the celebrities that had managed the phones were Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts, Cindy Crawford, Mel Gibson etc. Producer and musical artist Wyclef Jean was most affected by this because he witnessed his own nation’s tragedy first hand by trying to help those people stuck under rubble and witnessing the fear and torment in faces of the Haitians. The telethon was broadcasted in New York, London, Los Angeles and Haiti and was also streamed live on YouTube and MySpace.

Other celebrities such as John Travolta had arranged for his plane to fly to Haiti to help the earthquake victims by providing the people with medical supplies. Not only did Travolta supply medical supplies but he also joined his friends in the "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon showing his support. The Leonardo Dicaprio Foundation is also supporting the people of Haiti by donating a one million dollar emergency relief fund as well as a long term relief program.
